Imagine how much better our community would be if we all felt compelled to selflessly give and to help others.

Sheldon has been described as, "A very caring person whose mission is to make a difference in the world." Another offered, "No one lives the value of "giving" or "paying it forward" better than Sheldon Bryant." 

Whether it be to volunteer your time, champion a special cause, or share life's lessons with a struggling teen or young adult, we all have the capacity to give more and help others.  

It is those selfless practices that define who we are and is what sets our community apart from all others.

Sheldon Bryant

A Man Who Leads by Example.

Sheldon is a terrific partner and role model for the next generation of young native residents of the community. He has shared stories of his humble childhood, struggles during his early adult life in California, and his proud heritage on numerous occasions. It is clear that these experiences have shaped his views and beliefs, and drive his passion to serve the local community. 

Sheldon and I were at a meeting with the Southern Valley Alliance for battered Women in Belle Plaine. His concern and understanding of the issues faced by the victims of domestic abuse, for both native and non-native women, was impressive. He was quick to offer his assistance to establish a connection with the organization and the SMSC. 

I see Sheldon's passions as building bridges. His work with the Downtown Council, efforts in the Optimists Club which serves youth, presence in our schools, donations to the St. Francis/St. Gertrude's foundation, and outreach to me and other leaders has helped to establish a stronger relationships between the SMSC and surrounding communities.
